Marie Curie was a famous scientist. She was born on November 7, 1867, in Poland. Marie was very smart and loved science. She moved to Paris to study more about science at the university.

Marie Curie did important work with her husband, Pierre Curie. They found two new things: polonium and radium. These discoveries were very big in science. Marie Curie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. She won it two times, which is amazing.

She worked a lot with something called radioactivity. She found that some things can give off energy. This was a new idea in science. Marie Curie's work helped doctors and other scientists a lot.

Marie Curie also helped during the war. She made small X-ray machines. These machines helped doctors see inside people to help them. She drove the machines to hospitals to help soldiers.

Marie Curie died on July 4, 1934. She was sick because of her work with radioactivity. But she is still famous today. Many people remember her because she worked very hard and found new things. She showed that women can be great scientists too.
